Case Study
There was a black little girl name Zaire she was 12 at the time she caught smallpox just by sitting next to a boy name Davaughn. She was the second youngest child in her family. She caught it from her own big brother he was sick one day and went to the hospital and found out it was smallpox it started off as a reddish rash on his chest. He just kept scratching at it and touched something then Zaire went and touched it but she didn’t know what she had touched. So she couldn’t tell the doctor to help find out how she got it. They already know how Davaughn got smallpox he has it from touching books and utensils such as pencils and pins and note books at Oliver High School. A behavior they were having were coldness and chills a big fever sweating that was not normar. The doctors had to do way more research on Smallpox so they can find out more then what they know about it.
The doctors are new to this type of disease. It’s also known as the pox the last outbreak of smallpox was 1972 in Yugoslavia. But this disease is from Ancient China but they live in Pittsburgh, Pa so I don’t understand how they had caught this disease. It’s deadly but Davaughn has survived smallpox for 4 years he has almost overcome the disease and then Zaire had to come and catch it after it was almost gone on Davaughn so now they have to sleep in two whole different parts of the house. So it doesn’t get any worst then what it is.
Pox is caused something called variola. Variola is deadly they might not live but let’s hope they do. It’s getting worst then what it was before and what we were expecting the rash has got way worst then what it was. It’s all over there body it was only all over there chest but now the pox will discover little bumps that appear in a rash is filled with clear fluid everywhere on their bodies. One day there mom’s boyfriend woke up and went to Zaire’s room to give her, her medicine but she died in her sleep from the disease. There really isn’t any treatment for this disease nothing major. The side effects Davaughn started having was a fat black and blue eye and his whole body was sore he couldn’t move. It was like he was tied down to his bed he had to stay in his bed and he lived in his room for 3 months and he died he couldn’t live any longer.
